Working from home has a lot of perks, but for me, getting to play music is one of the benefits I like the most. You can choose something for whatever mood you’re in at any time. Feeling lazy or tired? Play something cheerful. In a chill mood? Play some relaxing jazz or piano. However you’re feeling, there’s a playlist to get you going for the day! Need some recommendations? Here are the best Spotify playlists for all work from home moods.
Note that I will be separating the playlists with lyrics and with none. I personally prefer songs with no lyrics while working because hearing words distracts me, but if you’re doing something manual or routine, then you might prefer those with lyrics. And as to whether music really helps you work better, the answer is—it depends! I find it really helps me get motivated to start the work day. If you haven’t tried it yet or haven’t found the right music, try these playlists on for size!

what a clever post! I esp. like that it’s divided by “word” and “no words”.. I can’t focus as well on my writing when the music has lyrics, so I appreciate the categories..
Kathleen
Thanks, Jennifer! Yaay, hope the no lyrics playlists motivate you to write! 😀
Celeste Lili
i love how your split each mood list into lyric vs non-lyric category! i can’t listen to music with lyrics if I’m trying to get work done so that’s super helpful. Nature lo-fi sounds like the best playlist IMO
Kathleen
Thank you so much, Celeste! Yaay, so happy you liked it. Same here! I prefer music with no lyrics when I’m working too. Yes, it’s amazing! You can’t go wrong with lo-fi and nature sounds. Adding them together was genius. Haha!

I’ve actually been thinking of getting spotify, so this is a great post! I love how you split things up by mood and also by lyrics and no lyrics. What a great idea. i definitely agree about music with minimal lyrics for work.
Kathleen
Yaay! I’m glad this helped! I would really recommend getting Spotify because it has so many good playlists and podcasts. Then again, I haven’t tried other platforms, so I can’t compare. But if you love music, I would definitely recommend subscribing to a music-streaming service! 😀
Year of the dad
I always have to have lyrics. Although I tune most of it out when working. I use an Amazon Alexa and just use the Amazon Music service.
Kathleen
Nice! I recommended Spotify because it’s what I have, but as long as you can stream music, I think any service is good! 😀
