I am not afraid that my lips will forget
The weight of yours against mine
Or it’s smooth and pillowy texture
Pressing lovingly against me
I am not afraid that my skin won’t remember
The feel of your caress in the night
Or the pressure of your hands and hips
And the warmth of your embrace
I am not afraid of my nose not knowing
Your spicy masculine scent
Or of your sweat and musk
Lingering even without you
I am not afraid that my ears won’t recall
The sound of your voice as you say ‘I love you’
Your varied laughs and husky whispers
Or your sometimes out-of-tune song
I am not afraid of not knowing the taste
Of the inside of your mouth
Or the food that you make
And the sweet ecstasy of love
I am not afraid of my eyes losing sight
Of your rugged face in front of me
Or of your smile when we’re together
Your tousled hair and muscled torso
Because you are in my head, my mind,
My body, my heart, and my soul
I visit you every night in my dreams
And I come to rest beside you
And everyday I look forward
To these solidifying into reality
No more memories
Just the present you and me
